After care for add-on & Scalp Treatments

Protection from sun exposure  should feature highly in your aftercare. We apply sunscreen immediately after the treatment. You will then need to ensure you have sunscreen on every time you go outside (even on cloudy days!) for several weeks. Use at least SPF 30.

In addition, we recommend the following aftercare tips:

  • Avoid the sun:For three days we recommend that you avoid direct sun exposure entirely, and definitely don’t sunbathe!
  • Use moisturisers:Choose fragrance free natural moisturisers and serums to nourish and soothe your skin.
  • Avoid heat:Likewise, so as to not exacerbate the redness, avoid too much heat for three days too. Keep your hairdryer away from your face, and don’t use saunas or steam rooms.
  • Don’t exfoliate:After dermaplaning, you do not need to exfoliate (dermaplaning is extreme exfoliation!). Avoid scrubs and other exfoliation for at least one week.
  • Don’t swim:Don’t go in a chlorinated pool or hot tub for a week following your treatment.
  • Don’t exercise for 24 hours:To minimise sensitivity, redness, and the potential for outbreaks, avoid getting too sweaty for 24 hours following your treatment.
  • Don’t wear makeup for 24 hours:We recommend avoiding makeup on your face for 24 hours following treatment.
  • Avoid other treatments:If you’ve had dermaplaning, you shouldn’t have any other facial treatments for at least a fortnight.

Moisturising Your Brows after SPMU & Microblading

Apply an ointment such as Vaseline, with a thin layer over the brows (no rubbing) to keep your brows moisturised. It is important not to rub the ointment in the skin as the oils will push the pigment out of the skin.  Also, apply it before a shower so you protect the brows from the water.

Eyebrow Process of Scabbing & Healing

Microblading eyebrows include making incisions in the skin, then filling them in with pigment. So for a few days, your eyebrows will be an open wound that needs to heal and it will require an aftercare routine.

When your eyebrows start healing, the scabs or flakes will form. They will fall off, taking some pigment with them. This happen approximately 5 days after the treatment and usually lasts for 7 days.

Here are the things you should not forget when you face the scabbing stage:

  • Healing is not the same for everyone, so some people experience mild flaking, while others have to deal with heavier scabbing.
  • Under no circumstances should you touch or pick the scabs, they need to fall off on their own.
  • Don’t forget your aftercare routine with apply the ointment as instructed.

Eyebrow Healing process of 4 - 6 weeks

The treated area are made with incisions that has or will heal like a wound. Scab appear to cover the area where the new skin patches up the wound. The scabs fall off leaving the skin underneath to look lighter in tone and that the pigment did not take.

On lighter skin, this can look more grey or red. On darker the skin, the more prominent the new skin can look lighter. Do not worry that the treatment did not work or that it is damaged skin due to the scabs being picked off.  Each treatmnet will heal differently with the new melanin to rebuild back into the skin.
